East West Yoga

This ten-day Iyengar yoga retreat will take place in Benaulim in south Goa and will be taught by Gerry Chambers and Lynda Purvis.  It will take place in a private house in a quiet and calm area which is ideal for yoga practice.  Lynda Purvis will also teach from time to time.  The venue is close to the beach and to the facilities of Benaulim and Colva.  A short bus ride away is the regional capital, Margao, which is on the main train line from Mumbai, a journey of approximately 12 hours.  The venue is a taxi ride of about 40 mins from Goa’s airport.

The retreat will start at 8.00am on Tuesday 15 January and finish at mid-day on Friday 25 January.  Classes will run every day except Sunday 20 January from 8.00am until 12.00pm with a short tea break.   The rest of the day is free.  Each session will include an asana class and an exposition of a theme from the Yoga texts and /or pranayama.  Study material will be provided.  You will be required to bring a yoga mat but all other equipment (blankets, bricks and belts) will be provided.

A variety of accommodation options is available near the venue and we can provide help with this. Or you are welcome to find your own. We have reserved several twin bedded hotel rooms at a cost of approx £30 per room per night.  Other options are available.  We suggest you discuss your requirements with us.

The teaching fee for the 10 day course is £395.  In addition to accommodation costs (say £10 to £30 per night) you will need to budget for your travel to India, for which a tourist travel visa will be required.

There is a maximum of ten places so early booking is recommended.
